Abstract

This article discusses the importance of quality of life for older adults in the context of rapid social change and how developing a healthy lifestyle can contribute to their well-being. With the increasing ageing population, the challenges of maintaining physical, mental and social health are becoming increasingly significant. This study identified factors that influence quality of life for older adults, including diet, physical activity and social support. Through qualitative methods with in-depth interviews with 30 older adults, it was found that despite awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, many faced obstacles in implementing it. Support from family and community was shown to be a key factor in encouraging positive behavioural change. The results of this study emphasize the need for more holistic and inclusive interventions to support older adults in adopting a healthy lifestyle.
